xmastree2014-01Kevin Johnson is an award-winning photojournalist, videographer and multimedia journalist based in the Monterey Bay Area, and currently works as staff photographer for the Santa Cruz Sentinel. Johnson graduated Cum Laude from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, with an emphasis photojournalism and a minor in political science. Before transferring to SJSU, Johnson studied film, art photography and art history at Cabrillo College. Johnson’s photography and videography have appeared in:

Johnson has done photojournalistic projects both domestically and internationally. His work includes documenting an international special needs adoption, a portrait series in Havana, Cuba, covering the extreme metal scene in California, and producing a documentary video series about the proposed desalination project in Santa Cruz County.
