When shooting during wintertime in Santa Cruz it’s hard not to get caught up in the over-saturated sunset photo that’s been shot a million times before. It seems like every season my Facebook and Twitter feeds are blistering with the sunset landscape cliche that never seems to die off.
But what’s a photographer to do during this tempting time of HDR overuse? Simple, just point the camera elsewhere. There are may other, more thought-provoking things to be seen landside.
